The Advocacy Committee is asking for EVERYONE’s help at this critical time at the legislature. We need to strongly support continuing the proven programs that were funded last year AND ask that these be put into the BASE budget. The House budget deleted all of PIC’s priorities for homeless services from the Budget (HB 1900). These services ARE in bills that PIC asked to be introduced as well as mixed into other bills for Ohana Zones. The House budget allocated $30 Million to the development and services in Ohana Zones.

The annual Point-In-Time (PIT) Homeless Count is a requirement of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the Honolulu Continuum of Care (CoC), and is a count of sheltered and unsheltered homeless persons on a single night in January. The PIT Count provides the community and homeless assistance providers with data needed to understand the number and characteristics of persons who are homeless at one point in time. The PIT Count also provides policy makers with data needed to effectively allocate resources aimed at ending and preventing homelessness.

It's time to join and renew your membership with Partners In Care for 2018! In order to be a voting member, you must complete the attached packet and pay the membership fee. This year the Board voted to increase the membership fee to $80 for organizations. The increase in fees is due in part to the cost becoming a 501c3 non-profit organization.
